Shoes
I love shoes! I have a ton of them. Probably enough to last my lifetime. Of course, that won't stop me from getting more. Shoes are more than just a practical way to protect your feet. Shoes, when correctly used, are an essential part of an outfit. Now here's my dilemma.
I don't like to wear shoes. I would much rather be barefoot. I wear flip flops as much as I can because it's as close as you can get to being barefoot in public places. Taking off my shoes is one of the first things I do when I get home. Today, while at work, I decided to take off my shoes because they were bothering me. I don't typically do this because it's not necessarily the most appropriate behavior for the workplace, but I was just sitting at my desk and I wanted my shoes off. And, of course, I would just put them back on when I left my desk. And let me tell you, as soon as I took off my shoes, I think work became ten times more pleasant. But, what to do when you have all of these shoes that you love, but you don't want to wear them? It's quite a quandary!

I feel the same way. I love shoes. I love them when they're cute and even when they're uncomfortable. I buy them, even if I can only wear them a handful of places. But, whenever I can, I wear flip flops or go barefoot. I really don't understand myself. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.
And just as a sidenote, I have Converse high tops that look exactly like the ones in the picture. I bought them because they were adorable, but ironically, I rarely wear tennis shoes.
I LOVE being barefoot. But I'm also the kind of person who buys a couple pairs of shoes and then wears them into the ground before I get more. I've worn the same pair of flip-flops almost every day for the last 2 weeks. Do you think anyone has noticed?
I hear you with the shoes. I love buying shoes. I have to stop myself now because I don't even wear all the shoes I have. I work from home so I wear whatever I want - mostly barefoot. But my favorite shoes are the ones that don't feel like I'm wearing shoes (I hate having my feet feel constricted) and those are of course flip flops, crocs, or slippers when it's cold. When I was pregnant I wore through 2 pairs of crocs because that's all I wore...actually all that fit because my feet got swollen.
oooh I love that little rotating shoe mobile! PS. I take my shoes off at my desk every day. It's one of the (few) bonuses that come with working in a cubicle out of the way of the office's main artery.
I love shoes, and I don't usually hate wearing them unless they hurt. I don't usually wear flip-flops or open toed shoes. Mainly because I think I have really ugly feet, so I don't want anyone else having to look at them :)
Ashlee, I think you don't wear flip flops very often because it's always snowing in Rexburg. Frostbite isn't very fun. (I think the only solution is to move to California)
You're probably right Jake. I do need to get on that. I can have a sweet tan, and we can Rockband it up whenever we want. Dad said that it snowed last week, and here we are at the end of June. Crazy Idaho.
