House Hunting

Recently, Mr. Frisby and I started looking for a house. It is exciting and scary all at the same time. And it has completely changed my life. For example, I can't drive down the street now without scrutinizing each and every house as it whizzes by, wondering what the asking price would be. I notice things like mildly peeling/faded paint or what kind of shingles adorn the roof. I check out landscaping and change it all in my head. And I check out neighborhoods and proximities to schools. And, no, this is not on houses that we are actually looking at. This is on ALL houses. In addition, I'm now addicted to HGTV. I think, before we started house-hunting, that I could have counted on one hand the number of times I had turned on HGTV. Now, it's all I think about (of course, that could possibly be because it's rerun season).

And, don't even get me started on the houses we do look at. Thank goodness Mr. Frisby is there to think about the practical stuff. All I can think about when we go in a house is, "do I like the layout", "does it have a decent kitchen", and "how easy will it be to make it look awesome". And, Mr. Frisby is there behind me thinking about things like, "are the eaves in good condition", "how old is this house", "how big is the lot", and "does it have working AC". House-hunting is good times. And when we find our awesome house, you can all come and see it!

Very exciting. When we looked at ours, I didn't want to look at any others. It's not the sweetest house in the world, but it's been great. Good luck finding your's.

House hunting is a beast. We've started a preliminary search in our area, and I already feel overwhelmed. So much to think about! I hear you on scrutinizing every home I pass. It's just too bad that taste far exceeds my budget.

Enjoy HGTV. I'm addicted.

I'm pretty sure I would just think, "Is it ghetto? Is it cute? Is there a decent kitchen? Enough windows? A yard for a garden and dog?" I'm sold.

I'm laughing so hard because this has been my life for the last month and a half! As I began reading I was thinking, "yeah, but do you watch HGTV all the time" and that was literally your next sentence! So funny!
Tyler is the practical one for us too. I had every house we looked at decorated by the time we were done looking at it. We finally have one though. I just posted about it today, well at least the outside. It is a scary thing and a little stressful as you start getting down to it, but super exciting. Good luck! Can't wait to see what you find! Where are you looking?
Hope you guys are well!

PS. Do you remember Gaye Merrill, the VB trainer at BYU? Did you hear that she passed away? Sorry to put this on a blog, but if you knew her I thought you'd like to know.

I'll put you on our lottery list. You know, like, when we win the lottery (which we, of course, never play) we will send you some of the winnings. It will greatly help your search. At least, in my imagination it always does. Oh, and HGTV is the place to be during rerun season.

looks like I need to move again because I don't even know what HGTV is? That or watch more tv.
